I love bright, lush and beautiful glossy lips as much as I love an understated faint gloss or a slightly sheer pink! So no need to say that I'm totally excited to be part of the Refinery29 and Maybelline launch of the Maybelline Color Elixir collection! The Color Elixir is a gorgeous collection of lip glosses and I got sent 3 lush colors for me to try out, capture and share, the Signature Scarlet, the Fuchsia Flourish and the Raspberry Rhapsody!
There are so many lip glosses that promise but don't deliver in color or in gloss, the color is way too sheer when you really want a lush strong statement or the gloss is sticky and just plain yuk, I was so pleasantly surprised by the Color Elixir's bold color and heavy gloss! The Scarlet Red is a truly sensational and perfect red and the Fuchsia is exactly what you wish for in a strong pink! The color delivers perfectly and the gloss is really lush! I love that these glosses are so easy to apply, far more easy than trying to reach the statement glossy red or pink lip with a lipstick! The Raspberry Rhapsody is a strong beautiful berry color moving in the purple range and I love that you really see the color on the lips! xoxo
This is a sponsored blog post and review. Never the less all opinions are honest and 100% my own.
Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, high tea, Sunday's are to be spent in bed! There is such a thing as an art to making the perfect breakfast in bed! A little preparation goes a long way, shop for your weekend breakfasts, look up recipes and enjoy your weekend with delicious homemade pancakes, fruit shakes and croissants and better yet, make your guy do so ;) http://sipsandspoonfuls.com/2011/01/fluffiest-pancakes-ever.html
We simply love Ponytails! Whether they are styled in quick sloppy knots or in a time-staking sophisticated retro-do, the Ponytail is a perfect hair classic to wear with any style! This week I collected my favorite Ponytail tutorials, ranging from bohemian soft knots and twists to sleek and sophisticated dos! xoxo
Not everyday you get flown over to Paris by the YSL beauty teamto be in a video shoot and not everyday you get treated like a princess! Last week was above and beyond amazing, I still can't believe it! Everything was just picture perfect, a Parisian dream! I arrived late in the evening at my Hotel but was welcomed by an amazing YSL gift bag! So no need to say I spent next morning's breakfast at the Hotels restaurant exploring the new YSL gems a little better ;) The YSL nail polish (nr 10) is amazingly vibrant for a deeper shade of pink! (wearing YSL nail polish in the picture as well) I have been an Touche Eclat fan for a while and was super surprised and exited that it came with the Touche Eclat foundation that I had been dying to try out for a while! The matte lipstick nr. 205 is a beautiful dark color like the YSL nail polish I'm wearing, kind of a dark oxblood color which looks amazing on my light blonde hair! There was a "Forever Youth Liberator" eye serum too of which I have heard really good things! The scent of the YSL Manifesto eau de Parfum is beautiful, a romantic, powdery and sensual scent without being too sweet and girly! I have been wearing it everyday now and get so many complements on it! It's the perfect scent for me while I would not have expected that by looking at the bottle! It's my favorite goodie from the gift bag! xoxo
photo via bridesmagazine I'm obsessed with Natural Beauty looks! Not only is a fresh, radiant and dewy skin like a fresh leaf in spring, it is a perfect base to play up the classics like a winged eye or perfect red lips too! For me a bare look where it looks like no make-up is involved is far more intimidating as well, I always envy Natural Beauty's and their effortlessly nonchalant looks! Luckily for us looking "Natural Stellar" ends up being not so natural at all ;) 1) Barefaced Chic A beautiful little tutorial on getting a gorgeous and natural look! The soft blush and sheer gloss on a light moist skin give such an understated glow and freshness to a bare look. http://www.bridesmagazine.co.uk/hair-and-beauty/get-the-look/natural-wedding-makeup-how-to
2) Quick Brightening Make Up
Lisa Eldridge her blog and video tutorials are a real gem! A beautiful natural look is all about skin, about a radiant, fresh, glowy and yes bright skin!
A gorgeous video on blush, luminizer and bronzer! To be honest the video is more of an inspiration then an actual help although it does really make you get up and have a go with the blush! Helpful or not, for a beautiful natural look you need that flush of blush.
4) Covering Blemishes
Sometimes foundations and powders just work against you when you want a fresh natural look, Foundations can cake or just take away a natural glow (hormones, happiness, love..you know a real glow), try to work with an concealer only and by working on the problem areas only; dark circles and lines! I'm not lucky enough to step out with only a drip of concealer everyday but the days that I do, it ends up looking far better then a whole cover up! Not brave enough? Just finish up with a sheer foundation instead!
Gorgeous brows are often a key (and forgotten) secret to a perfect natural look, I think a natural look is all about a subtle enhancement of the face, features and skin!
A common misconception when it comes to natural looks is that everything has to be natural! You would be surprised how natural these curls would look when they dance gently in the wind! I would even go with a slightly lighter lipgloss and maybe even set the eyes a bit more! http://bridalmusings.com/2012/11/romantic-waves-hair-tutorial-by-the-hepburn-collection/
8) Flower Braid
A lighthearted and playful touch adds quickly something youthful to any look! I would just keep the hair with the braid instead of making the actual flower but I do really love the idea!
